MAYOR BUDDY DYER AND CITY OF ORLANDO TO
RECOGNIZE SEEDS OF PEACE PRESIDENT AARON DAVID MILLER
WHAT: Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, the
City of Orlando, and local business and community leaders with gather tomorrow,
Tuesday, May 10, 2005, to recognize the work and mission of Aaron David Miller
and the Seeds of Peace organization.
A morning reception for Aaron David Miller will be held in the Office of the
Mayor at City Hall where Miller will also speak to current issues with Seeds of
Peace and how the City of Orlando and it’s community leaders can participate
with the organization.
WHO: Aaron David Miller became President of Seeds of Peace in 2003. Seeds of
Peace is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young leaders from
regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance
reconciliation and coexistence. The organization focuses on the Middle East but
has also expanded to include young leaders from South Asia, Cyprus and the
Balkans.
Miller received a PH.D. in American Diplomatic and Middle East History from the
University of Michigan and then joined the State Department where he served for
twenty years. For the last two decades, he served at the Department of State as
an adviser to six Secretaries of State, where he helped formulate U.S. policy on
the Middle East and the Arab-Israel peace process, most recently as the Senior
Adviser for Arab-Israeli Negotiations.
