CITY TO ANNOUNCE PATHWAYS THAT WILL LEAD
REVITALIZATION EFFORTS FOR ORLANDO NEIGHBORHOOD
Together, Mayor Buddy Dyer and
Commissioner Daisy Lynum Will Unveil Plans for Parramore Heritage District
WHAT: Tuesday, June 14, 2005, Orlando
Mayor Buddy Dyer and District 5 Commissioner Daisy Lynum will officially launch
plans to guide and to lead the City’s revitalization efforts for the Parramore
Heritage Neighborhood. Additionally, businesses and community organizations from
Orlando will be on-hand to discuss their respective roles in the revitalization
efforts.
In November 2003, Mayor Dyer commissioned volunteers to serve on the Parramore
Task Force. The mission of this Task Force was to develop implementation
strategies that address the areas of Public Safety, Housing, Quality of Life,
Children and Education, and Business Development; with the goal of restoring the
Parramore Heritage Neighborhood to a safe, livable, sustainable, and prosperous
place for families, businesses, and institutions to thrive.
Based on the recommendations from this task force, Mayor Dyer and Commissioner
Lynum will outline the bold implementation strategies that will paint the
Pathways For Parramore.
