MAYOR BUDDY DYER GOES DOOR-TO-DOOR TO
MEET FACES OF PARRAMORE HERITAGE NEIGHBORHOOD
Mayor’s Work-Along with Orlando Police
and Neighborhood Leaders to Provide City Resources and Recruit for Summer Teen
Camps
WHAT: Tomorrow, Mayor Buddy Dyer will
join Orlando Police Officers as they hit the streets of the Parramore Heritage
Neighborhood with a door-to-door campaign to share valuable City and OPD
information on housing rehabilitation and public safety programs, as well as to
begin building relationships with residents. The ultimate goal of the City’s
public safety efforts is to promote positive change within the Parramore
community.
Additionally, Mayor Dyer will cruise Parramore with Toni Shinn, who runs a
grassroots non-profit organization and is a
familiar face to the community, in an effort to engage and enroll students in
free summer programs, including programs
especially targeted for teens, to help keep them off the streets, and to provide
the resources for fun and unique
summer sessions. Many of the participating organizations have offered
scholarships and other accommodations. In
addition, LYNX has graciously provided free bus passes for the entire summer to
teens that sign up for these programs.
