The Mayor’s work-along is part of a two-day walking transportation audit to identify recommendations to make downtown streets more walker-friendly.  Participants will look at improving shade, lighting and sidewalks, among a variety of other elements that could make it easier for pedestrians to live, work and play in Downtown Orlando.

The audit will be conducted throughout the CRA’s four segments: Uptown (north of Livingston and Lake Dot area), East Side (S. Eola, Thornton Park, N. Eola), Downtown CBD (south of Livingston to Gore St), and West Side (Parramore, Callahan)

Additionally, on Monday, August 1, 2005, Linda Watson, Executive Director of Lynx and District 2 Orlando City Commissioner Vicki Vargo, will participate in walking the Uptown segment, and District 4 Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, will participate in walking the East Side segment to obtain feedback on how to make Orlando more pedestrian-friendly.
