TO EXPLORE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA


City of Orlando Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month With
Cultural, Arts and Business Development Activities

ORLANDO, FL (September 22) – As the City of Orlando strives to diversify our economy and continue to attract new business to our region, Mayor Buddy Dyer will lead a trade mission with Enterprise Florida and the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, September 25th – 29th, to Mexico City and Monterrey.

“With business leaders from around the State of Florida, we will work to build relationships and explore economic development opportunities with the Mexican business community that will benefit our entire region,” said Mayor Dyer.

Additionally, in conjunction with Florida businesses participating in the trade mission, Mayor Dyer will host forums for Mexican business and government leaders to discuss trade and commerce with the Central Florida region.

Beyond International business development initiatives, an array of unique, cultural events are being held in the City of Orlando to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th – October 15th). From abstract art exhibits and historical lectures to festival-style celebrations and parades, this important month showcases Hispanic Heritage as well as the key role the Hispanic community plays in Central Florida’s diverse region.

Hispanic Heritage Month events in the City of Orlando:

Cuban Art Exhibit and Lecture – September 22, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall Rotunda. This event is held in conjunction with the University of Central Florida.

Seminar Cultural and Tourism of Puerto Rico – September 30, at 9:00 a.m. in the City Hall 9th floor Overlook Room. The Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Office will conduct this seminar.

Celebration of Puerto Rican History and Culture – September 30, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall 9th floor Overlook Room. This event is held in conjunction with the University of Central Florida

Puerto Rican Day Parade – October 2, at 10:00 a.m. The Parade Route will run along Robinson Street. The Parade is presented by the Puerto Rican Day Parade of Florida, Inc.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration Art Exhibit and Reception – October 5, at 5:30 p.m. “Serie los Emigrantes” Exhibit of Banco Popular’s Private Collection will be displayed.
