CITY OF ORLANDO AND FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION HOST WORKSHOP
TO DISCUSS DOWNTOWN TRANSPORTATION CHALLENGES
Orlando Citizens Encouraged to Attend Public
Forum
Regarding Downtown Mobility
Orlando, FL (October 3, 2005) – Downtown
Orlando is Central Florida’s core neighborhood where people come together for
culture, entertainment, business and government services. Today, there are
57,000 people working at the 4,400 businesses located in Downtown. With more
than 54 new development projects under construction, even more individuals will
need to easily get in and around the Downtown core.
The City of Orlando and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) have
scheduled a Public Workshop on Thursday, October 6th, for citizens to review
initial findings and research for the Downtown Orlando Transportation Plan. This
comprehensive look at Downtown’s current and future mobility, includes parking,
roadways and traffic, transit, walking and bicycling, as well as freight.
This workshop will be held on:
Thursday, October 6, 2005
Orange County Regional History Center
65 East Central Boulevard in Downtown Orlando
4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The format of the workshop will be an informal, open house setting with
opportunities to review project information, share ideas and concerns and hold
“one-on-one” conversations with the study team anytime from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00
p.m.
Citizen input received at the workshop, along with the technical evaluations,
will be blended into an overall draft plan, creating a centralized reference
tool. A draft of this plan should be ready for review by Spring 2006.

with Disabilities Act of 1990 should contact Jason Burton, Project Manager by
