Performance Audits
Include reviews of the following: the effectiveness of a program or activity and whether it is achieving its goals and objectives; the economy and efficiency of a program or activity, including whether it is acquiring and using its resources in the most productive and cost effective manner; the adequacy and functionality of the internal controls established by a program or activity to safeguard City assets; and, the conformance of the program or activity with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards.

Revenue Audits
Maximize City revenue streams through audits of City tax and fee remitters for compliance with City ordinances.  Provide City management with information regarding potential new revenue sources to reduce the burden of property taxes on the citizens.

Compliance Audits
Ensure that the City and its contractors comply with the required Federal, State and local rules, regulations and guidelines. For City agencies, this may include reviews of grants, awards, and other financial assistance.

Fraud Investigations
Investigate any suspected acts of fraud, misappropriation or other irregularity.

Information Systems Audits
Assist City management in the effective design, development, and testing of management information systems and applications.  Ensure that existing systems function effectively and provide accurate and reliable information to City employees and management.

Special Reviews / Management Studies
Non-audit (or "consulting") services carried out at the request of City management. These reviews may include an assessment of a particular function or activity where the level of involvement by the Office of Audit Services and Management Support is limited and does not rise to the level normally experienced during an audit.

Special Functions
Analyze and regulate the activities and fees of cable television franchisee.  Conduct special reviews and/or perform financial analyses at the direction of the Mayor.  Advise City elected and appointed officials in the effective management and cost control of special projects.
