Revenue Auditing
The revenue auditing
function seeks to maximize compliance with laws and contracts related to
City revenues. This is done primarily through audits of Municipal Public
Service Tax collections, franchise agreements, occupational license
collections, and tangible personal property tax collections.
The Municipal Public Service Tax is a tax on certain utility services as
authorized by Florida
Statute 166.231. City Code Chapter 54A outlines the City of
Orlando's requirements for those collecting and administering the tax.
The utility services that
are affected are: electricity, fuel oil, L.P. gas,
natural gas and water.
