ORLANDO, FL (January 4, 2006) – On Thursday, January 5, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., Mayor Dyer will welcome representatives from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to his Veterans Advisory Council Meeting.

Robert W. Ratliff, recently named the Director of VA East Central Florida Facility, and Michael Douglas, Chief of Staff for the local facility, will attend Thursday’s meeting to meet and greet veterans in the Orlando community. Mr. Ratliff and Mr. Douglas will also share information to the Advisory Council regarding the new VA Medical Center.

The Mayor’s Advisory Council, chaired by WWII Veteran Paul Hay, addresses veterans issues and organizes events to not only honor and support veterans but also to educate the Orlando community.
