City of Orlando Reports Successful
2005 Workplace Giving Campaign
ORLANDO, FL (February 13, 2006)— At today’s
City Council meeting, Mayor Buddy Dyer, City Commissioners and City staff made
check presentations surpassing $270,000 to charitable organizations as part of
the City’s Workplace Giving Campaign. Nearly 40% of City employees participated
in the 2005 campaign with an average gift of $350 per donor.
“The Workplace Giving Campaign is one of the many ways City employees show their
commitment to the community," said Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Through monetary
contributions, our employees help address some of the most critical issues
facing Central Florida.”
The most significant contributions went to Heart of Florida United Way with
$50,777.93, America’s Charities with $42,741.13 and Independent Charities of
America with $19,321.94.

seven umbrella organizations including Community Health Charities of Florida;
America's Charities; Heart of Florida United Way; United Arts of Central
Florida; Independent Charities of America; Neighbor To Nation; Community
