MAYOR DYER LAYS OUT VISION THROUGH DOWNTOWN ORLANDO MASTER PLAN PROCESS

WHAT: Downtown Orlando is bustling with urban activity – from new businesses and corporate headquarters to residential, dining and entertainment options. But how does this all fit into the Master Plan for Downtown Orlando?

On Monday, May 8, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has scheduled a special workshop for City Council and community members. The workshop, Downtown Orlando: Vision, Land Use and Infrastructure Master Plan, will provide Council members and residents with a unique opportunity to get an in-depth look at the vision for Downtown and the extensive master planning process, that is preparing the City to capitalize on future opportunities.

WHY: As part of the revitalization of Downtown, Mayor Dyer has spent the past three years working on transportation infrastructure, offering arts & cultural options, and creating new opportunities for economic development. In addition, developing world-class community venues will solidify Orlando’s transformation into a community that offers first-rate amenities and economic opportunities to its citizens and visitors. The special workshop will provide a look at how all these various initiatives fit into the Master Plan for Downtown.
