ORLANDO FIRE STATION 2 FIREFIGHTERS
UNVEIL HOT NEW ‘FIRE ENGINE RED’ DESIGNER KITCHEN

FIREFIGHTERS WON A NEW DESIGNER KITCHEN IN
MAXWELL HOUSE/HGTV NATIONAL PHOTO ESSAY CONTEST
WHAT: On WEDNESDAY, JULY 12, Orlando
Fire Station 2 will unveil its brand new fire engine red designer kitchen at an
open house and celebration breakfast for approximately 75 friends, family, local
officials and members of the community.
The firefighters recently won a $10,000 kitchen spruce up in Maxwell House’s
national photo essay contest. Orlando Fire Station 2 was selected as one of only
ten winners nationwide. Their photo-essay told of their kitchen’s threadbare
cabinets, busted tiles, crammed counters and beat up appliances. In addition,
the firefighters used a fire hose to wash the station’s commercial size pots and
pans that were too big for their tiny kitchen sink. Now those days are over!
Thanks to the generous support of local businesses who donated granite
countertops and provided appliances at cost allowing Orlando Fire Station 2 to
get more for their winnings.
