Mayor Buddy Dyer Hosts Pep Rally to Get
Golden Knights Ready for Game Day

WHAT: On Friday, September 15, in preparation of the University of Central Florida (UCF) Golden Knights game against their in-state rivals the University of South Florida Bulls, Mayor Buddy Dyer, Coach George O’Leary, the UCF pep band and cheerleaders will be in front of City Hall to host a pep rally. Mayor Dyer will proclaim game day, Saturday, September 16 as “Golden Knight Day” in the City of Orlando.

UCF students had the chance to vote and name the rivalry, and the winning name was the “Battle of the Grid Iron Gold,” since both teams share gold as a school color. Mayor Buddy Dyer will also issue a friendly challenge on the game to Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio.
