ORLANDO, FL (November 1, 2006) – District 1 Commissioner Phil Diamond will host the annual District 1 Picnic and invites District 1 residents to join him at Wadeview Park.

“Last year’s picnic was a tremendous success with over 500 residents and their families enjoying the activities and food. I look forward to hosting this event every year because it offers an opportunity for District 1 residents to come out and meet their neighbors and enjoy the fall weather,” said Commissioner Diamond.

Children of all ages can participate in a variety of family-friendly activities at Saturday’s picnic including moonwalks featuring the “buccaneer pirate ship,” face painting, a putting green and demonstrations by the Orlando Police Department and the Orlando Fire Department, as well as musical entertainment. And new this year is a hayride in the park for the kids. In addition, there will be plenty of hamburgers, hotdogs, ice cream treats and drinks.
