Mayor Buddy Dyer, City Commissioners and
the Orlando Police Department Announce Citywide Safety Information Series
WHAT:
As part of Mayor Buddy Dyer’s continuing commitment to public safety and his
three-year, multi-million dollar public safety initiative, the City is hosting
seven safety information meetings for Orlando residents.
Mayor Dyer and City representatives will provide an update on
public safety efforts including the Safe Orlando Task Force, the Illegal Gun
Bounty Program and the Orlando Police Department’s creation of tactical squads
to aggressively target street level crime.
To further empower residents to help reduce and prevent
crime in neighborhoods, the
Orlando Police Department and Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood & Community Affairs
will be on site to provide safety tips and recruit residents for community
policing programs, including Neighborhood Watch and Citizens on Patrol.
