GROUNDBREAKING AT L. HOEQUIST PARK

ORLANDO, Fla. (February 21, 2003) – City of Orlando District 2 Commissioner Betty T. Wyman will break ground for Leroy Hoequist Park on Saturday, March 1, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. 

This neighborhood park will be a recreational area with a blading/biking trail, a multi-purpose field and picnic facilities. New landscaping will be included as part of the development plan. The park is located at 1450 S. Alder Ave., near the Engelwood Neighborhood Center.

L. Hoequist Park is one of 30 parks included in the Parks Initiative, a 36-month project entitled “The City Beautiful - The Legacy Continues.” The cost for this park’s improvements is $1 million.
