MAYOR AND FIREFIGHTERS UNITE TO WELCOME LIFE-SAVING EMERGENCY TRAINING TO ORLANDO
ORLANDO, Fla. (February 27, 2003) – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will support the leadership training efforts of the City’s firefighters by providing the welcome at a national fire services training conference this Friday, February 28, 2003, at 8 a.m. at the Orlando Expo Centre, 500 W. Livingston St.
“In today’s ever-changing environment, fundamental fire service training is a critical element in ensuring the safety and security of our citizens,” Mayor Dyer said.
Guest instructors from FDNY, Ohio, California and Miami will join some of Orlando's instructors in hosting three days of hands-on-training, lectures and seminars. The training will focus on fundamental and advanced fire training in high angle rescue, roof top entry, pumper and tower truck operations, forcible entry, search and rescue and other firefighter safety practices. This event is hosted by Local 1365 and co-sponsored by the City of Orlando and the Central Florida Fire Academy.
