MAYOR DYER TO TOUR ORLANDO HOUSE
AS PART OF GRAND OPENING

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 13, 2003) – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will tour The Orlando House at 10 a.m. this Saturday, March 15, 2003, the first day the house is open to the public.

The Orlando House, located at 2516 E. Church St., is a progressive green building project that will display the latest environmentally friendly and energy efficient building products and methods on the market. The primary goal of the project is to create a home that is both attractive and structurally sustainable.

Once officially opened this weekend, the Orlando House will be available for tours for a full year as an educational tool to inform citizens about the benefits of using recycled and durable materials, as well as energy efficient appliances, mechanical systems and insulation. The house will showcase an assortment of recycled and environmentally sound building materials that perform well in Florida’s climate.

A permanent open house has been set up on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The City’s Housing and Community Development Bureau is coordinating and overseeing the Orlando House. For more information, visit www.cityoforlando.net and click on the “Orlando House” icon.
