MAYOR DYER TO OPEN LULAC’S 74th NATIONAL CONVENTION
ORLANDO, FL (June 13, 2003) – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will welcome more than 7,000 delegates to the 74th Annual League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) national convention on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 8 a.m. at the Wyndham Palace Resort at Walt Disney World. “We are pleased that LULAC is celebrating its 74th National Convention in Orlando,” said Mayor Dyer. “I encourage the Hispanic Community of Central Florida to attend this conference and not miss the opportunity to learn about local and national Hispanic issues, participate in workshops, training programs, job fairs and a world class expo.” LULAC is the oldest Hispanic civil rights organization in the nation. The 74th LULAC convention will be held from June 16 to June 21, and admission is free to the public. This year’s convention theme is “Latinos Unidos Realizing the Promise,” and it will feature training programs, policy workshops, job fairs and an exposition of Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and community organizations.
