CELEBRATE OUR NATION'S INDEPENDENCE WITH FIREWORKS AT LAKE EOLA PARK

ORLANDO, FL (June 27, 2003) – The City of Orlando and Cox Radio will host “Fireworks at the Fountain” beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2003, at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando.

The Lake Eola Amphitheatre will come alive with talented country singers and performances by the Orlando Concert Band. From 5 – 7 p.m., watch tomorrow’s country stars today as they compete in the “Colgate Country Showdown,” America’s largest country music talent showcase and radio promotion. At 8 p.m., as a prelude to the fireworks finale, enjoy the music of the Orlando Concert Band as they perform a series of patriotic musical pieces.

The highlight of this free event will be a spectacular 20-minute fireworks finale that will begin at 9:30 p.m. America’s favorite patriotic songs will fill the air as golden palm trees, multi-color shells, ring patterns, colored bees, falling leaves, strobes and sparkling star bursts illuminate downtown Orlando’s skyline.

Commercial vendors will be present throughout the park and assorted food and beverage refreshments will be available for purchase. Also on site will be activities and games for children and five of Central Florida’s top radio stations: Star 94.5, AM 580WDBO, 98.9WMMO, 95.3 Party and K92FM.

“Fireworks at the Fountain” is presented by Chevrolet -“We’ll Be There” and sponsored by WKMG-Local 6, Downtown Development Board and the Fiesta in the Park Committee. For more information regarding “Fireworks at the Fountain,” call (407) 246-2022.
