MAYOR DYER TO VISIT LATINO LEADERSHIP TO KICK OFF THEIR 4TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY FAIR

ORLANDO, FL (July 30, 2003) – Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will visit the Offices of Latino Leadership at 9318 Colonial Drive this Thursday, July 31, 2003, at 10 a.m.

Latino Leadership is a non-profit corporation with a mission to help develop a model Hispanic community for Central Florida. The Mayor was invited to tour the Latino Leadership offices and kick off the 4th Annual Community Information Fair after agency representatives met with the Mayor last month to discuss local Hispanic issues.

“We are very impressed with Latino Leadership’s work in the Hispanic Community, specifically in the areas of education, housing and community development,” said Mayor Dyer. “Latino Leadership is implementing programs and initiatives that make a difference in our community and we look forward to partnering with this organization in the future to help them continue their wonderful work.”

Latino Leadership will kick off its 4th Annual Community Information Fair with the theme of promoting homeownership -- “Buying a House and Making it your Home.”

“Homeownership is part of achieving the American Dream and growing a successful City,” said Mayor Dyer. “I want to encourage all of our residents to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about housing, business, government, health and educational services.”

Latino Leadership’s 4th Annual Community Information Fair will be held Saturday, August 2, 2003, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jackson Middle School on 6123 LaCosta Drive, next to the Englewood Community Center in Orlando.
