MAYOR DYER TO PRESENT OPD’S NEWEST 4-LEGGED PATROL OFFICER “FIESTA” See Photos
ORLANDO, FL (October 29, 2003) – Mayor Buddy Dyer Thursday at 2 p.m. will present “Fiesta,” the Orlando Police Department’s newest patrol officer, to the Fiesta in the Park Committee at Lake Eola Park. The Fiesta in the Park Committee donated “Fiesta,” a 16-year-old, full-bred American Quarter horse, to the Orlando Police Department Mounted Patrol. The addition of “Fiesta” will increase the Mounted Patrol’s ability to work in neighborhoods, help with crowd control and patrol the downtown corridor. “Fiesta” will also assist with special events and will be featured at the 32nd annual Fiesta in the Park event this Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lake Eola Park. Approximately 550 booths of unique hand-made arts and crafts will line the sidewalks and streets surrounding Lake Eola Park. Music by local artists will entertain the crowds in the Walt Disney Amphitheater and an extensive food court will provide energy for the all-day shopper. For more information about Fiesta in the Park, please call 407-649-3152.
