TROTTERS PARK TO HOST
EQUESTRIAN SPECIAL OLYMPICS

WHEN:           SATURDAY, MARCH 20, 10 A.M. – 3 P.M.  

WHERE:         TROTTERS PARK, 1905 LEE ROAD

 

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 19, 2004) – The Freedom Ride Organization will host the Special Olympic Equestrian Games at Trotters Park on Saturday, March 20, 2004 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

Spectators are invited to cheer on Special Olympic athletes from Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties as they compete in horse riding categories including showmanship, trail, equitation pole bending and barrel racing. 

Freedom Ride is a non-profit 501c3 organization providing therapeutic horseback riding and related activities to children and adults with disabilities.    

Schedule of Events:

10 a.m.             Opening ceremony/parade of athletes

10:30 a.m.         Games begin

Arena 1:   Working trail course
                           English riders
                           Stock seat riders

Arena 2:   Showmanship
                           Dressage
                           English equitation
                           Stock Seat equitation

1:30 p.m.           Arena 3:  Pole bending
                                       Barrel racing
