MAYOR TO LAUNCH PARKING AMNESTY MONTH AS PART OF NEW PARK SMART PROGRAM
ORLANDO, Fla. (March 31, 2004) – The City of Orlando Thursday will announce Parking Amnesty Month as part of the new Park Smart program. Park Smart, which also will be kicked off Thursday, is a program designed to offer the public visiting downtown Orlando more convenient and higher visibility parking options. “We’re sending the message that Downtown Orlando is open for business,” said Mayor Dyer. “It’s a new day for parking in Orlando with Park Smart.” April 1 will be the first day of Parking Amnesty Month. Through April 30, individuals who pay their original parking ticket amount by mail or in person to the Parking Division at 53 West Central Blvd. will have their late fees waived. Outstanding tickets can be verified on-line at cityoforlando.net by using a license plate number or ticket number. For more information on the Parking Amnesty Program and downtown Park Smart options, please visit www.cityoforlando.net or call 407-246-3764.
