CITY TO DEDICATE NEW
CLEAR LAKE PARK
ORLANDO, Fla. (July 29, 2004) – District 5 City Commissioner Daisy
W. Lynum and District 6 City Commissioner Ernest Page invite the public to help
them officially open Clear Lake Park on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 11 a.m.
Clear Lake Park is situated on the shores of Clear Lake at 2301 29th St. in
southwest Orlando. The new 25-acre park provides green space and recreational
facilities for surrounding communities including hard and soft trails, a fishing
dock, boardwalk, picnic shelters, playground, fitness station and ½ mile
exercise trail. Clear Lake Park boasts an environmentally friendly theme,
including “dark sky” lighting that respects both neighbors and wildlife by
directing light downward. In addition, park furnishings are formed from recycled
seashells, plants are mulched with recovered pine needles and the playground
floor is made of recycled pallets.
Commissioner Lynum, Commissioner Page, the Isle of Catalina Homeowners
Association and Rio Grande Park Neighborhood Association welcome families and
organizations to the official park grand opening and dedication ceremony. The
event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, please contact the
City of Orlando’s Families, Parks and Recreation department at 407-246-2287.
