CITY OF ORLANDO PRESENTS
THE ‘STILL GOT IT GOING ON’ DANCE
ORLANDO, FL (November 4, 2004) – The City of
Orlando’s Families, Parks and Recreation department will host the ‘Still Got it
Going On’ dance, featuring the Still Kickin’ Band, on Saturday, November 13,
2004, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the City of Orlando’s Loch Haven Park Neighborhood
Center. (See event flyer)
In addition to the music of the 50’s and 60’s, attendees will enjoy a classic
American muscle car show, which will be on display outside the center from 6 to
7 p.m.
The Still Kickin’ Band plays rock ‘n’ roll music from the 50’s and 60’s and is
comprised of former Boone High School and Orlando Youth Center alumni. The
quarterly dance series is part of Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Active Living Initiative,
which focuses on the families and older citizens of the City of Orlando. Through
the program, the City promotes its 106 parks, 17 community centers, nine
swimming pools, adult and youth athletic programs, the Downtown Orlando Tennis
Centre, Harry P. Leu Gardens and Dubsdread Golf Course as ways to stay active.
Admission to the dance is $5 per person and all proceeds benefit the City of
Orlando’s Exceptional Recreation program, which provides Orlando’s only
after-school and summer programs for youth and young adults with disabilities.
Tickets will be sold at the door the day of the event, and food and beverages
will be sold at the event. The City of Orlando’s Loch Haven Park Neighborhood
Center is located at 610 N. Lake Formosa Drive, by the Orlando Science Center.
