DELEGATION FROM URAYASU, JAPAN PRESENTS HURRICANE RELIEF CHECK TO MAYOR DYER

ORLANDO,FL (February 8, 2005)- The Urayasu International Friendship Association (UIFA) will present Mayor Buddy Dyer with a contribution of approximately $750 for hurricane relief on Thursday, February 10th at 9:00 a.m. Urayasu is one of Orlando’s Sister Cities.

High School students in Urayasu (pronounced ooh,ra,ya,su), Japan raised money for hurricane victims in Orlando. UIFA will be delivering the check on behalf of the high school students.

Mayor Dyer will present the check for $750 to Orlando resident, Susan Jacome, to assist with the cost of her hurricane repair insurance deductible. Following the hurricanes, Mayor Dyer created a program to assist citizens with hurricane insurance deductibles. This program assisted several Orlando families.
