MORE THAN 100,000 EXPECTED TO ATTEND FIREWORKS AT THE FOUNTAIN IN DOWNTOWN ORLANDO

Mayor Buddy Dyer Invites Orlando to Celebrate 4th of July
With Booming Fireworks Over Lake Eola

WHAT: Mayor Buddy Dyer encourages Orlando citizens and visitors to celebrate Independence Day with Fireworks at the Fountain for the 28th patriotic celebration of fun, food, entertainment and fanfare at Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando.

Fireworks at the Fountain brings live entertainment throughout Lake Eola for all ages and interests, from the Colgate Country Showdown – a local, country version of American Idol, to the patriotic instrumentals of the Orlando Concert Band and the sounds of hard rock and smooth melody at the Classic Rock stage.

Also, the Children’s Area provides fun activities, storytelling and games in addition to Lake Eola’s playground, to entertain the family while waiting for the big fireworks display.

At 9:15 p.m., Mayor Dyer will kick off the unique fireworks display, which will feature approximately 20 minutes of colors, sounds and “booms” filling the air to commemorate the 2005 Fourth of July celebration. Attendees of Fireworks at the Fountain should get there early to reserve their spot around Lake Eola to view the City’s fireworks display.

Delicious and affordable July 4th cuisine will be available throughout Lake Eola including BBQ, turkey legs, gyros, Spanish and Chinese food, as well as traditional hamburgers, sausages and curly fries. Two beer and wine gardens featuring a variety beverages will be on-site for those ages 21 and up.

Carnival-style food will also be on-hand such as kettle korn, cotton candy, sno-cones and ice cream. Additionally, families can also pack a picnic meal to bring to the park.
