Meet the Staff

Assistant to Director Susan Harris (p) 407-246-2779
Susan has been with the City since 1995. She is responsible for the implementation and oversight of the City’s neighborhood and community outreach initiatives, she is the City’s staff liaison for the distribution of city funding to human service organizations through the Citizen Review Panel and to arts/cultural organizations through United Arts and she is also responsible for the office’s annual budget process.

Community Outreach Coordinator Patricia Newton

Patricia, a native Orlandoan, joined the City in 1991 and has been with the office since March 2006.  She is responsible for conducting and managing community outreach programs and resources to help residents and community based organizations enhance the City's neighborhoods. She also plans, publicizes, coordinates and conducts community enhancement workshops. She previously worked as an investigator, event coordinator and a fair housing counselor with the City's Human Relations Office.

Community Outreach Coordinator Jennifer Chapin

Jennifer, a Central Florida native, joined the City in 2001 and has been with the office since 2004.  She is responsible for conducting and managing community outreach programs and resources to help residents and community based organizations enhance the City's neighborhoods. She also plans, publicizes, coordinates and conducts community enhancement workshops.

Community Outreach Coordinator Julie Tindall

Julie joined the NCA team in April 2007. She is responsible for coordinating grants oversight, monitoring, and development for the City of Orlando's three neighborhood-based Mayor's Match Grants Programs, which provide funding to neighborhood associations, schools, and non-profit organizations. She has extensive experience in community outreach programs, both in nonprofit organizations and the private sector.

HOLA Staff Assistant Damaris Negron-Cortes

Damaris started working with the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance in April 2006. She provides administrative support by assisting the Hispanic community with information and referrals and manages the hotline.

 

HOLA Coordinator Alicia Ramirez (p) 407-246-3638
Alicia has served the City of Orlando since February 2001, and was chosen to lead the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance in March 2006.  She has extensive background in working with community outreach programs, and volunteers. 

 

SeniorLinks Facilitator Walt Willis (p) 407-246-3971
Walt has been with the City since June 2005. He is responsible for the marketing and implementation of the SeniorLinks program. He brings a life time of experience in helping others get what they need and want.

 
 

Staff Assistant Jasmin Rubio (p) 407-246-3787
Jasmin has been with NCA since January of 2007.  Her responsibilities include providing administrative support to the staff of NCA and assisting the community with valuable information.

 

Volunteer Program Manager Traci Blue (p) 407-246-2082
Traci has been with the City since 2002.  She manages the internal and external volunteer programs utilizing both employees and citizens as volunteers.  She also manages the Apple C.O.R.E. mentoring/tutoring initiative, coordinates volunteers for the Earned Income Tax Credit VITA program, and various other volunteer initiatives.  She chairs a committee of City Employees representing most city departments and offices called V.O.I.C.E. (Volunteer Organization of Involved City Employees) who plan and coordinate over 30 volunteer and community service opportunities per year.  She is personally involved in many non-profit organizations serving either as a board member or volunteer.
