Marcia Hope Goodwin

Marcia joined the City in December 1992, and is a member of
Mayor Buddy Dyer's Senior Staff. She assists the Mayor, the Orlando City Council
and City Staff in developing and implementing the City's community and human
relations missions. She serves as the City's liaison to the arts/cultural
community and
nonprofit sectors of Orlando. Marcia also manages the City's funding and support
for nonprofit arts, education and human service organizations. Her
responsibilities include oversight of the Mayor's Matching Grants program,
ORLANDO CARES, Community Affairs and Human Relations. Before joining the city’s leadership team, Marcia
served as Public Information Director for Miami’s WLRN Public Radio and
Television; staff writer and columnist for the Orlando Sentinel and Founding
Editor of the Orlando Times newspaper.

Patricia Newton

Patricia, a native Orlandoan,
joined the City in 1991. She is accountable for the implementation and
oversight of the City’s Human Relations initiatives. This includes the
enforcement of Chapter 57 of the Code of the City and federal
discrimination laws, in coordination with state laws as they relate to
equal employment, fair housing and access to public accommodations. She
is responsible for the office’s annual budget process and performs
administrative and professional work serving as the principal assistant
to the office director, and she supports the City’s community relations
mission. Patricia has served as a City Community and Neighborhood
Outreach Coordinator, MLK Holiday Commission Staff Coordinator, and
Discrimination Investigator. Prior to joining the City, she was an
Orange County public school teacher and an Orlando Sentinel general
reporter.
