Break the Cycle

Break the Cycle received a 2009 Mayor's Faith-Based and Community Matching Grant to prevent youth crime by providing mentoring programs and entrepreneurial opportunities for at-risk youth. Many of the youth who participate in this mentoring program enrolled in the Junior Lifeguard program where they were trained to become lifeguards. The youth participated in the Junior Lifeguard competition on July 31, 2009, where they competed in relay races and rescue drills against other junior lifeguard programs from the central Florida area.
