The Sixth Biennial Private Gardens Tour of Historic Lake Eola Heights
On Sunday April 21st noon - 5 p.m.,
the Lake Eola Heights Historic Neighborhood
Association will present the sixth biennial tour
Private Gardens of Historic Orlando Featuring
Lake Eola Heights". This year’s
event will build on what has become a very
popular feature on Orlando’s calendar of
gardening events. There will be 11 lovely
private gardens for you to explore as well as
music, architecture and arts.
The self-guided tour begins at noon and ends at 5 p.m. Tickets will be $10.00 if purchased in advance and $15.00 on the day of the tour and children 12 and under with a paying guest are free. Tickets may be purchase in advance at the Handy Pantry Grocery, also known as "Garden Central" (522 East Amelia Street). There will be a total of 11 homes and you may visit as many as you wish. Proceeds benefit the Lake Eola Heights Historic District and other local charities.
2013 College Park Homes Tour
The College Park Neighborhood Association presents the College Park Homes Tour featuring Lake Adair Saturday, May 4, from 1 to 5 p.m.
This self-guided tour consists of several homes and gardens with guests experiencing some of the charming, hidden places found in College Park. This is a great way to spend a Saturday strolling through beautiful homes. The event includes live music, art vendors and food trucks.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased the day of the event or in advance beginning April 22 at Anne Rogers Realty Group, (1822 Edgewater Drive) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Check in at the corner of Edgewater and South Lake Adair or Westmoreland and South Lake Adair before starting the tour. College Park Neighborhood Association members receive two complementary tickets with their membership.
A portion of the proceeds from this year's tour will be used to fund the Michael Welborn Education Grant. This grant is awarded to a College Park school for a history-related activity. Mr. Welborn lived in Orlando for 27 years and made major contributions to the community.
