Employment Discrimination
Employers Exempt from
Employment Discrimination Laws
1. The Federal Government is not exempt; but EEOC and local agencies
do not accept complaints from federal employees. They
may file with their internal EEO Representative at their appropriate
governmental branch.
2. Employers with less than 15 employees (Federal Laws).
3. Employers with less than 6 employees (Chapter 57).
4. Employment of aliens outside any state.
5. Religious corporations, associations, societies and schools.
6. Indian tribes.
7. A bona-fide private membership club. Please do not hesitate to call
the OHR for assistance to determine if your employer is exempt.
Circumstances may vary enough to alter the general rules and
regulations. |
