The Chief of the Orlando Fire Department is
appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Commission. The Chief
reports directly to the Mayor as an appointed Cabinet Member.
The Fire Chief is responsible for the
administration and management of public fire protection, emergency
medical services and emergency management for the City of Orlando.
Field Operations Bureau - Deputy Chief John McCormack
The Orlando Fire Department operates
15 firehouses with an additional 2 new firehouses currently
under construction. Field Operations is divided into 3
Divisions: A, B, and C. Each division is under the command
of a Division Chief who oversees operations of the departments 4
geographical districts. Each District is under the command
of a District Chief who coordinates all operations through the
Lieutenants assigned to the firehouses within their district.
Personnel work a 24/48 schedule.
