 •Must have State of Florida EMT or Paramedic Certification.

Minimum Qualifications:
 •United States Citizen
•High School Graduate plus one (1) year experience with computers and/or communications systems.
 •Must type 25 wpm.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certificate within six (6) months of employment and maintain license while employed.
•All employees required to complete 32 Hr EMD refresher every 2 yrs.
 •Employees holding EMT certifications required to complete 32 Hr EMT refresher every 2 years.

NATURE OF WORK:
Performs skilled work in emergency fire communications. Employees assigned to this classification receive, screen, and dispatch major emergency calls for fire, emergency medical services, and aircraft emergencies; provide limited medical advice and prepare various reports. Work is performed under the supervision of a Emergency Communications Shift Supervisor and performance is reviewed while in progress for technical accuracy and judgment through direct observation and results obtained
