Fire Marshal Tammy D. Hughes

Tammy Hughes joined the Orlando Fire Department in 1994.  She has worked her way through the civilian ranks as a Fire Inspector, Supervisor, and the Deputy Fire Marshal to her current position as Fire Marshal.  She was promoted to this rank on June 3, 2003.

June 2002, Tammy graduated from Delta University with a Fire Science degree in four disciplines: Fire Prevention, Investigation, Fire Fighting and Emergency Medical Technician.  Tammy’s diverse qualification represents a unique blend of relevant experience, extensive training, and acquired skills. She is an experienced Fire Service Manager whose professional responsibility expands into all areas of public safety.

As the Fire Marshal, she is responsible for conducting research and planning that forecast long-range department goals, providing guidance on code interpretations to all internal and external customers and exemplifying executive leadership to the Fire Safety Management Division.
