Bok Tower Gardens Scrub Lupine Project

In 2008, the Rare Plant Conservation Program at Bok Tower Gardens received a grant from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to help fund a project designed to save the Scrub Lupine from extinction. In partnership with the City of Orlando, Bill Frederick Park was selected as a new population site for Scrub Lupines.  There was an initial planting December 2010, with a follow up December 2011.  Come visit the park to see this native, endangered plant in bloom!

Disc Golf Information:

Disc Golf is a recreational sport for everyone, regardless of age, gender or ability. A course consists of a series of baskets laid out so that when a player completes one hole or basket he or she proceeds to the beginning of the next. Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake is fortunate to have two 18 hole Disc Golf courses. Our newest course was designed by Greg Hosfield, Professional Disc Golf World Champion 1987. Disc Golf is played all across the United States and in many different countries. The field of Disc Golf players continues to expand greatly including many women and families. Discs and equipment are available for purchase or rent at the gate house. Bill Frederick Park is the home of The Orlando Disc Golf Club, www.orlandodiscgolfclub.com.
