Highlights:

Regional Center

The Dover Shores Community Center is located on the corner of Gaston Foster Road and Curry Ford Road. The center boasts a beautiful 9,000 square foot multi-use gymnasium. The fitness center is equipped with state-of-the-art Cybex and cardiovascular equipment. Also included in the center are a computer lab, multi-purpose rooms, activity rooms, grand room, conference room, two kitchens, and men’s and women's locker rooms with showers. Outdoors amenities include an Olympic size swimming pool, playground, baseball field, two racquetball courts, two handball courts, tennis courts, picnic tables and a covered pavilion. A 2005 expansion included the addition of a 3,000 square foot, dividable Grand Room for parties, receptions and meetings. Also part of that construction was a 20,000 square foot outdoor Golf Training Complex which includes a sand trap, rough, 9-hole putting green, and 6 driving cages.

Programs:

Computer Lab (all ages): Work on homework, resumés, or just increase your knowledge of the computer

ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages): Classes are held for speakers of foreign languages to learn English for ages 18 and up

Golf: This weekly after-school program teaches the fundamentals of golf. It is available for youth from kindergarten to 9th grade.

Midnight Basketball (ages 16 and up): Cool off with our mid-night hoops on Fridays from 9 pm - 1 am

MTP (Middle Teen Program) (ages 11 - 14): Join the crew! Weekday afternoons and school holidays; You can participate in all the fun activities such as parties, bar-be-ques, lock-ins, youth night outs, field trips, art projects, drama club, special events, fund raisers, and community service projects

Karate Self Defense: Twice a week, September through May – This martial art is offered to teach the basics of self-defense for safety and health as well as increase confidence, discipline, and physical fitness.

SPARK Before/After School Program (ages 5 -14): 7 am - 8: 30 am and 2 pm - 6 pm every day after school based on the Orange County Public Schools Calendar (available for elementary and middle school students) Youth participate in recreational activities, drama, homework time and arts and crafts

SPARK Camp Orlando (Summer Camp): First Week in June through the beginning of school (available for elementary and middle school students) Youth participate in recreational activities, swim and arts and crafts

SPARK School Vacation Daze (ages 5 -14): Are you wondering what to do during school holidays? Well, we have fun activities for you! Enjoy crafts, outdoor activities, game rooms, dance, and much more during the traditional school vacation calendar year, Register at site prior to school the holidays
