Orlando Downtown Recreation
Complex History ●
Highlights:
Located right next to the Amway Arena, the Orlando
Downtown Recreation Complex offers an extensive and centrally
located fitness facility for the downtown business community and
neighborhoods. The facility has a weight room, nautilus
room, cardio room, and gymnasium. It is conveniently located
with plenty of parking for the person on the go who wants to get
a quick workout in, or for the person who comes in for his/her
routine workout. This site is also shared by the
Orlando Pottery Studio and
Orlando Tennis Centre.
Programs:
Adult Programs:
Age 18 and older. Fitness Room Memberships and Gymnasium
Memberships. If 16 years old must be with an adult.
Activities: Age
11-18. Weight lifting, Teen room and after
school open gym
Homework Room: School-aged youth receive
free tutoring, access to computers, the internet, and
snacks. Page 15, a non-profit organization committed to
providing supplemental reading and writing education,
operates the Homework Room at the Orlando Downtown
Recreational Complex. Mon - Thurs 3 pm - 6 pm.
Junior Magic Basketball
(ages 9 to 15):
January – March, Ages – 9 and Under, 11 and Under, 13 and Under, 15
and Under – Basketball program run in correlation with the City of
Orlando’s Athletic Department; This league helps
better the participant’s skill in basketball as well as provide an
enjoyable team experience; Youth are evaluated then placed on a
team; All teams are put together with the hopes of creating equal
level of skilled and unskilled players on each team to make the
league competitive, yet fun; Cost – $31 per participant (includes
jersey). Registration takes place through the Recreation Division
Athletics section.
Midnight Basketball: In a
partnership with The Center for Drug Free Living, we offer this
prevention program that provides youth with positive, alternative
late night activities, such as Open Gym basketball, on Friday nights
from 8 p.m. to midnight, and on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.
Rentals and Public Use:
Orlando Downtown Recreation Complex offers the gymnasium for rent
for sporting events such as basketball and volleyball practices,
tournaments, and camps. Other gymnasium rentals available at the
discretion of the facility manager.

Gymnasium - $65 per hour minimum of 2 hours -
Capacity 1000.
Rental Policy and Procedures

$100 Damage Deposit Required. Deposit will be refunded 4
to 6 weeks after rental if no damage was found after the
rental.

Insurance is not refundable and prices range from
$31 to $80 and will protect any injuries that may
happen during the rental.

No Alcoholic Beverages allowed.

All rentals must be scheduled 14 days prior to event.

All rentals must be paid in full at time of booking.

Rentals must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to event
to receive a refund.
