Highlights:
The John H. Jackson Community Center is located on the corner of
Westmoreland Avenue and Carter Street in downtown Orlando. The
center services the community with a state-of-the-art
recreational facility which offers youth and adults a fitness
center, aerobics classes, tennis courts, swimming pool, after
school and summer camp programs and meeting rooms.
Programs:
Aerobics (ages 18 and up):
Mon, Wed and Thursday - 5: 30 pm - 6: 30 pm, The cost is 21
dollars and 30 cents per month; Low impact workout, which
includes: weights, steps and cardio; Please bring an
exercise mat and towel to classes and wear proper attire and
shoes
Computer Lab (all ages):
Mon - Fri, 8 am 2 pm, open to general public; 2 - 6 pm,
closed for After School Program; Saturday 10 am 6 pm, open
to general public; Challenge and increase your computer
knowledge, work on tutorials, computer software and complete
homework assignments
Karate: ShoTo Kan
Style, Tuesday Thursday - 5 pm, beginners - 6 pm, advance
- 7 pm, adults, Explore Middle Teen Program (MTP) (ages 11 -
14): Mon - Fri 2: 30 pm 5: 30 pm - A teen program where
youth can develop leadership skills and cultural diversity
awareness; The program features workshops, regular meetings,
service projects, computers, tutoring, game room activities,
art, field trips, puppets, and athletic activities
Orlando After School Is Super
(OASIS) (ages 5 - 10): Mon - Fri, 2: 30 pm 5:
30 pm - This after school program for youth provides
supervised activities for elementary school aged children
have access to computer labs, game rooms, cultural arts,
pottery, puppetry, arts and crafts, dance recitals and field
trips to local attractions, football and basketball games
Senior Program (ages 55 and
up): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 am - 1 pm,
Providing a variety of fun activities involving, health,
social and life long learning skills
School Vacation Daze (ages 5-
14): Are you wondering what to do during school
holidays? Well, we have fun activities planned for you!
Enjoy crafts, outdoor activities, game rooms, and much more
during the traditional Orange County Public School vacation
calendar year; Register at site prior to school holidays

UCF Reading Camp (ages 6 -
10): Sat 10 am 11: 30 pm, (Sept Nov) (Feb -
May) For elementary students in grades 1-5, UCF College of
Education Students will tutor children in reading
Youth Tennis (ages 9 - 16):
Mon, Wed and Fri, 3 5: 30 pm - Develop coordination while
learning tennis drills and increasing your format of this
popular sport skills
