Highlights:
Regional Center
The Rosemont Community Center is located in the Rosemont
Community Park at 4872 Rose Bay Drive. Construction started in
late July 2004 and was completed in early October 2005. The
facility is 15,500 square feet containing a multipurpose meeting
space with an adjacent food service area, state of the art
fitness center, men's and women's locker rooms, computer lab,
arts and crafts room, game room, teen room, administrative
offices and open green spaces for outside activities. Additional
outside park amenities include basketball courts, tennis courts,
children's playground, open green spaces with hard surface
trail, picnic areas and parking. Included in the building
construction was a multipurpose swimming pool for open swim,
family swim, six lanes for lap swimming, water slide, and a
water activity area for non-swimmers. The pool will be complete
with men's and women's bath houses and administration office.
Programs:
Adult Programs (ages 18 and
older): Fitness room memberships, lap swimming
for exercise and computer lab
Camp Orlando (6 - 14):
10-week summer camp program
Dance/Step: Modern
dance is an art form created by artists who incorporated new
dance styles into the dance steps of yesterday; This
activity is schedule is an age appropriate setting to teach
the fundamentals of tap, hip hop and jazz
MTP ( Middle-School Teen
Program): After school program for teens 11 to 14
years of age
OASIS (Orlando After School
Is Super) (ages 5 - 10): After school program for
children
School Vacation Days:
Mini-camps when school is on vacation
Scrape Booking:
Scrape booking is a method of preserving a legacy of writing
in the form of photography, printed media and memorabilia
contained in decorated albums or scrapbooks; Scrap booking
is a tradition similar to storytelling, but with a visual
and tactile, rather than oral focus; This program allows
families quality time and an opportunity to learn family
values
Senior Programs (ages 55 and
older): Mon, Wed and Fri - Daily activities to
include the following: fitness room activities, game room
activities, computer room classes and internet skills, arts
and crafts activities
Special Events:
Various special event days with visitations from interest
groups, dances and monthly events
