How to Become a Citizen's Review Panel Volunteer

The City of Orlando is currently seeking individuals who are interested in an opportunity to make a difference and build our community by becoming a member of the Citizens' Review Panel (CRP). The CRP is composed of 30-40 volunteers who make allocation recommendations for public funds from Orange County and the City of Orlando.

Volunteers learn about services available for those in need, make a difference by building our community’s human service network, and form strong relationships with other business and community leaders who serve as fellow volunteers - relationships that last long after the process ends.

Requirements and Responsibilities of Citizen Review Panel Volunteers

To be a Citizens’ Review Panel volunteer for the City of Orlando, you must:

  • Be a citizen of the City of Orlando

  • Attend training sessions prior to the start of the fund distribution process

  • Commit to an estimated total of 5 hours per week from February through April

  • Review all materials provided

  • Attend scheduled agency site visits and meetings

  • Participate in panel workshops where funding decisions are made

  • Be fair, unbiased and objective

  • Maintain confidentiality of information whenever appropriate
