Highlights:

The Dr. I. Sylvester Hankins Park Recreation Site is located on a 15.2-acre park on the corner of John Young Parkway and Columbia Street. The center is centrally located in a residential area and is heavily used by neighborhood youth. Newly renovated in 2003 with a new facility that offers an array of recreation activities, including after school and summer camp programs.

Programs:

Arts and Crafts (ages 8 and up): Expand your creativity by using water colors, crayons, pen and ink art

Computers (all ages): Work on homework, résumés, or just increase your knowledge of computers

Middle Teen Program (MTP) Club (ages 11 - 14): A teen program where youth can develop leadership skills and cultural diversity awareness - The program features workshops, regular meetings, service projects, computers, tutoring, game room activities, art, field trips, puppets, and athletic activities, Call (407) 246-4455 for details and for information on the many fun adventurous outdoor excursions such as camping, hiking, orienteering, and canoeing

Orlando After School Is Super (OASIS) (ages 5 - 10): After school program for youth that provides supervised activities for elementary school age children; Children can have access to computer labs, game rooms, cultural arts, pottery, puppetry, arts and crafts, dance recitals and field trips to local attractions, football, and basketball games

School Vacation Daze (ages 5 - 14): Are you wondering what to do during the school holidays? Well, we have fun activities planned for you! Enjoy crafts, outdoor activities, game rooms, and much more during the traditional school vacation calendar year; Register at site prior to the school holidays

Youth Activities (11-14): Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) boys mentoring program every Wednesday from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Believe It Be (BIB) girls mentoring program every Thursday from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
