History ●
Highlights:
The Rock Lake Community
Center is geared toward older adults with special emphasis on youth
during school hours and after school until 6:00 p.m. We offer a
variety of amenities for the neighborhood and surrounding community.
Rock Lake Neighborhood Center is a 4,358 sq. ft. facility and
adjacent park. The building consists of two meeting rooms (75
persons capacity per room), a computer lab with 10-PC stations,
restrooms with a shower and a serving kitchen. The park amenities
include the following - an large playground, multipurpose field, two
tennis courts, two outdoor basketball courts, parking lot, and
walking trail.
Programs:
Camp Orlando Summer Camp (ages 5 -
14): A safe and affordable
summer camp program for
youth. This five-day week program at 16 City recreation centers
offers a variety of activities, including swimming, crafts, outdoor
activities, nature programs, exciting field trips (additional
expense), computer labs, arts and crafts, and special events. Sites
may offer different activities according to the interests of the
children who participate in programs.
Computer Lab (ages 8 and up):
Offering open lab for research, resume writing, homework, internet
access, and other activities. Hours for open lab are: Wed: 1
p.m. - 2 p.m. Mon – Fri: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Heart and Soul Exercise Walking Club:
(any age) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Get active
by joining us for these walks twice a week.
MTP (Middle-School Teen Program)
(ages 11 - 14):
A diverse teen program for youth in middle school. The program
features computers, homework assistance, workshops, regular
meetings, service projects, game room activities, art, field trips,
and athletic activities. Youth will have opportunities to
develop leadership skills and gain cultural diversity awareness
through MTP activities.
OASIS (Orlando After School Is Super)
(ages 5 - 10):
An after-school program for youth ages 5 to 10 that provides
supervised activities for elementary school age children. Children
can have access to opportunities such as homework assistance,
computer labs, game rooms, cultural arts, pottery, arts
and crafts, dance recitals and field trips to local attractions,
football, and basketball games.
School Vacation Daze (ages 5-
14): A youth program coinciding with school holidays from
7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Offering fun activities during school breaks,
children can enjoy crafts, outdoor activities, game rooms, and much
more during the
traditional Orange County Public School vacation calendar year.
Register at site prior to school holidays.
Senior Program: (“I-CAN”,
ages 55 and up) M-W-F, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Program offers activities
to promote healthy and active living, fitness, fun and field trips,
“I-CAN”, is intergenerational caregiving and assistance network it
mainly focuses on grandparents and other kin raising grandchildren
Rentals and Public Use:
Rock Lake Community Center offers certain rooms within the facility
for rent for events such as birthday parties, meetings, showers, and
so on from Monday through Saturday.

Multi-Purpose Room - $50 per hour (M-F), Weekends $65 per
hour- Capacity 125 persons.

Kitchen - $15 per hour - Capacity 10 persons.

Multi-Purpose Field -
$25 per hour prior to 5 p.m. and $40 per hour
after 5 p.m.
Rental Policy and Procedures
-
$100 Damage Deposit Required. Deposit will be refunded 4
to 6 weeks after rental if no damage was found after the
rental. Insurance is not refundable and prices range from
$31 to $80 and will protect any injuries that may
happen during the rental.

No Alcoholic Beverages allowed.

All rentals must be scheduled 14 days prior to event.

All rentals must be paid in full at time of booking.

Rentals must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to event
to receive a refund.
Public Use
-
Computer Lab are open to the public at no charge during
operational hours.

Computer Lab will close for the
OASIS and MTP after
school programs from August through May from 2 p.m. - 6
p.m. Monday through Friday.
