Orlando invites families to Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake for a free day of fun for Kids to Parks Day
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has proclaimed May 20, 2017, as “Kids to Parks Day” in The City Beautiful to encourage everyone to explore the amazing amenities in Orlando Parks. A long-time proponent of healthy outdoor activity, health and wellness, Mayor Dyer is encouraging families and children to get outdoors for a day of play and park appreciation.
This year Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake will host Kids to Parks Day as part of the nationwide observance. Cars with children will be admitted free for the day in honor of the celebration. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., special activities include:
- Fun with Fishing
- A Real Florida Farm
- Bike the Park
- A Dive Into Disc Golf
- Out on a Limb Tree Climb
- The opportunity to win prizes, including fishing poles, a half-day boat rental, a night of camping and a stay in one of the park’s cabins.

Families in communities across America, including Orlando will celebrate parks Saturday, May 20 as part of the 7th Annual Kids to Parks Day. This national day of outdoor play is organized by the National Park Trust. Last year more than 731,000 participants enjoyed 1,130 park events across the country.
