ORLANDO GIS

The City of Orlando GIS was established in 1992 with a five-fold mission to:

• Maintain key data sets that are the underpinning information of Police, Fire, Engineering and several other departments

• Operate as a internal service program, providing clients with data as well as standard and customized maps and reports.

• Consult with clients to assist them in developing their requests for GIS information

• Act as a liaison between the City and data partners that are external to the City in order to promote the City’s interests in their data.

• Engage in research and development to take advantage of improvements in GIS and data technology.
