There is no more festive time of the year to experience the City of Orlando than the holiday season.

Throughout November and December, the City is offering free, family-friendly holiday events and activities for residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy, furthering the City’s continued commitment to providing a wide variety of amenities and entertainment for everyone.

Ivanhoe Village Jingle Eve
Gaston Edwards Park, 1236 North Orange Avenue

Annually organized by the Ivanhoe Village Main Street District, Jingle Eve is a family-friendly holiday celebration featuring a Santa’s Village, a wine stroll, beer garden, Christmas tree lighting, food trucks, local artists, vendors, live musical performances and a fireworks show over Lake Ivanhoe.

Small Business Saturday

In honor of Small Business Saturday, Mayor Dyer and the City of Orlando invite all residents on Saturday, November 25, to make a conscious decision to patronize the small, locally-owned businesses in Orlando – many of which are located in Downtown and in the nine Orlando Main Streets Districts.

Thornton Park District Christmas Tree Decorating
Olde Town Brokers, 11 North Summerlin Avenue

Thornton Park Main Street District invites residents to hang ornaments and string lights on the Main Street District’s tree during a Christmas tree decorating event. Santa Claus will also stop by for photos with the children.

City of Orlando Annual Tree Lighting Celebration
Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park

The City of Orlando’s annual Tree Lighting Celebration will feature the official lighting of the City’s 72-foot Christmas tree featuring 88,000 animated LED lights. The event also includes entertainment, holiday music and TheDailyCity.com Food Truck Bazaar.

Eola Wonderland Christmas Tree Show
Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park

Every Night starting on Friday, December 1 through Saturday, January 6 at 5:45 p.m.; 6:45 p.m.; 7:45 p.m.; 8:45 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., the Eola Wonderland 72-foot Christmas tree will come alive with a synchronized light and music show while the Lake Eola fountain displays red, green and gold lights to celebrate the holiday season.

Deck the Downtown
Downtown Orlando

The Downtown Orlando Partnership, Downtown Arts District Orlando, Church Street District, Thornton Park District and Downtown Development Board are hosting “Deck the Downtown” December 1 – 31. Throughout this time Downtown Orlando businesses will be “decked-out” with festive lights and window decorations. A map will guide residents and guests as they walk the streets of Downtown, enjoying the creativity and holiday spirit of each of the participating business locations. Deck the DTO location maps can be found online or at the Downtown Information Center.

Residents can get in the “spirit” of the season at the Approximately Twelve Pubs of Christmas Pub Crawl, annually organized by the Mills 50 Main Street District. Buy a wristband for $10 at Wally’s or GB’s Bottle Shop and Tasting Bar in Mills 50 District, and enjoy drink and food specials at 16 bars, restaurants and shops.

Residents are invited to celebrate the holiday season at the SoDo Main Street District‘s annual event, Light Up SoDo. This event includes an appearance from Santa Claus, activities for kids, wreath making and a beer and wine garden.

What’s Up Downtown for the Holidays

The Downtown Development Board’s annual holiday edition of What’s Up Downtown at Lake Eola Park will feature performances from the Russian Ballet Orlando, Mad Cow Theatre, Dr. Phillips Center Premier Performance Ensemble Docs & Dellas, Howard Middle School Jazz Band and Howard Middle School Show Choir.

Holiday on the Drive

College Park Main Street District is hosting its annual Holiday on the Drive, a family-friendly event featuring a visit from Santa Claus, activities for kids, food trucks and other activities.

SantaCon
Thornton Park District, begins at Dexter’s Thornton Park, 808 East Washington Street

Annually organized by the Thornton Park Main Street District, SantaCon is a gathering of people dressed as Santa that visit restaurants and bars to celebrate the holiday season with some adult libations. This year participants are encouraged to bring musical instruments such as tambourines, harmonicas and guitars.

The Florida Citrus Parade brings together more than 3,000 participants in one of Central Florida’s longest running traditions. The parade, which has become one of the largest sports affiliated parades in the nation, will feature signature citrus floats, marching bands from across the county and family fun in Downtown Orlando.
