CDBG funding, provided to the City through the United States
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), is one of several
fund sources for capital improvements. The CDBG funding is provided
pursuant to the City's Growth Management Plan and the Capital
Improvement Program, as well as Citizen Participation Plan. The priority
for CDBG funding is to fund capital improvements in areas not
meeting level of service standards where more than 51% of the
residents are extremely low, low and moderate income
families/individuals. Funding is available for the construction or
improvement of streets, parks, neighborhood centers, drainage or
other public facilities. Proposed projects are submitted during the
annual Consolidated Application Process and are funded through
citizen participation and staff recommendations.
