Types of Assistance
The type of assistance is prioritized by
necessity and the availability of funds.
Code Assistance - Code Assistance is
available to assist very low and low income owner occupants the
repair of items which constitute violations of the Housing Code with
priority given to referrals from the Code Enforcement Division.
Approved applicants are available for a secured grant of up to $5,000. Applicants are eligible if their gross income is less than
50% of the median income, as determined by the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development.
Emergency Assistance - Conditions such
as major roof leak to the interior of the home, major plumbing or
electrical problems.
Moderate Rehabilitation - Homes that
are generally in good condition, but are having problems with life,
safety or health components of the home.
Substantial Rehabilitation - The home
is in need of several different repairs that may include structural
concerns.
Reconstruction – Will only be performed
when it is determined by HUD guidelines that it would be more
economically feasible to replace a home.
