In compliance with
Federal Regulations issued by the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the City of Orlando has
prepared a Consolidated Plan that consolidates the planning,
application and reporting aspects of HUD's HOME,
CDBG, ESG and HOPWA
programs.
The intent of the
Consolidated Plan is to promote citizen participation and the
development of local priority needs and objectives by providing
comprehensive information on the jurisdiction that is easy to
understand; to coordinate the statutory requirements of the
different programs in such a manner as to achieve their purposes in
a comprehensive way, while reducing paper work and minimizing the
federal intrusion into state and local planning activities and to
simplify the process of requesting and obtaining federal funds
available to the jurisdictions on a formula basis; to promote the
development of an action plan that provides the basis for assessing
performance and to encourage consultation with the public and
private agencies, including those outside a single jurisdiction, to
identify shared needs and solutions.
