Maintaining a world-class Downtown is vital in helping provide a high quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors to our great City. As Orlando continues its role as the economic, governmental and cultural center of Central Florida, it is important that our Downtown core reflects the vibrancy of all that the City Beautiful has to offer.
Project DTO – Advancing Downtown Orlando is making that happen with a new visioning process to formulate the next chapter of Downtown Orlando’s evolution. With the help of actively involved community members and Downtown influencers, Project DTO and its nine interest committees are creating a plan for what Downtown will be 10 years from now, and beyond.
On Wednesday, June 25 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Project DTO will host its first Midday Mingle, a public outreach event at Wall Street Plaza in Downtown aimed to gain public input on its committee work projects. This is a great way to get involved in the project and interact with fellow members of the community who share the same passion for Downtown.
I will be working alongside committee leaders and City staff at the event, and I invite you to come join us to actively share your vision for our Downtown. Free DTO t-shirts will be given out, with the opportunity for attendees to print their own upon visiting and sharing their ideas with me and members of the committees.
The key to Project DTO’s success lies in the hands of our citizens and visitors, the individuals who live, work and play Downtown. The more people who share their ideas with us, the better we can direct the transformation of Downtown.
